A legal education is a significant investment in your future, and Lewis & Clark is committed to helping make it affordable. We offer a robust scholarship program, and we are here to help you understand the ins and outs of all the other types of aid available.

Funding Your Legal Education

Lewis & Clark Law School recognizes that a legal education is an important lifetime investment. Beyond rigorous practical and intellectual training, attending law school prepares students for long-term personal and professional rewards. We strive to work together with you to develop financial options and payment strategies that will make a degree from Lewis & Clark attainable.

A variety of financial assistance is available at Lewis & Clark Law School, including scholarships and awards, loans, and work-study. We estimate that more than $31.5 million of financial aid is distributed to our law students each year. Additionally, upper-division students at Lewis & Clark have ample opportunities to seek paid clerkship positions in Portland’s extensive legal community.

Paying for Law School With the FAFSA

In order to determine eligibility for federal financial aid, you must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Filing the FAFSA will put you into consideration for the federal student loan programs and, after your first year, the Federal Work-Study program.
