Biography

Jake Kamins is Oregon’s Animal Cruelty Deputy District Attorney, based out of the Benton County District Attorney’s Office. Since 2013, he has prosecuted cases of animal cruelty (abuse and neglect) throughout the state. Jake regularly trains law enforcement, veterinary and humane employees, attorneys, and others on animal cruelty issues. Jake previously worked as a Deputy DA at the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office. He received his BA from Brandeis University, and his JD from Lewis & Clark Law School. In 2012, Jake was named one of the nation’s Top 10 Animal Defenders by the Animal Legal Defense Fund.
