Law Faculty

A Welcome From Dean Johnson

At Lewis & Clark, students come first. Our accomplished faculty members are deeply committed to excellence in teaching, and they bring enthusiasm, sterling credentials, innovative scholarship, and practical experience to the table. Beyond the classroom, Lewis & Clark teachers are easily accessible to students and faculty/student collaborations provide additional educational opportunities.

Students enjoy a collegial atmosphere in which to pursue their legal studies. We offer a wide range of courses and programs as well as opportunities for practical experiences in one of our fine clinical, internship, and externship placements. Our graduates hold major posts in the judicial, executive, and legislative branches of federal and state government, in private law firms and business entities, in public interest organizations, and in academia. Our alums have made major contributions to law reform and public service.

Lewis & Clark is the only law school in Portland, Oregon—one of America’s most beautiful and livable cities, with a vibrant and sophisticated legal community. Portland, one of the country’s top “foodie” destinations, also offers abundant opportunities to enjoy life outside of school. In addition, the physical beauty of the law school itself, nestled next to a state park, is unmatched. It is no wonder that students come from all over the country and from many foreign countries to attend Lewis & Clark. Please explore our website and we hope that you have an opportunity to visit in person to see for yourself all that we can offer.
