Biography

Jay W. Fields works as an attorney with the United States Department of the Interior, Office of the Solicitor. He focuses on Indian law issues including: fee to trust, tribal timber, and tribal jurisdiction. Prior to working with with the Office of the Solicitor, Mr. Fields was a Senior Associate General Counsel with the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan for over ten years where he assisted with the Tribe’s land acquisitions, fee to trust transfers, construction, and hunting and fishing regulation.
