Contract Drafting: Sneaker Law

- Description: Sneaker Law will provide hands-on contract drafting experience through the lens of the sneaker industry – covering areas of law including entity formation, employment, intellectual property, licensing and influencer collaborations, and litigation. Adjunct professor Nic Mayne from Nixon Peabody’s Entertainment & Media team will be joined by guest speakers from leading Portland-based sneaker and apparel companies, providing students exposure to a number of different areas of law, and the opportunity to develop drafting skills through weekly in-class drafting assignments. Required Textbook: Sneaker Law, Anand & Goldstein.

The American Bar Association accreditation standards require students to regularly attend the courses in which they are registered. Lewis & Clark expects students to attend classes regularly and to prepare for classes conscientiously. Specific attendance requirements may vary from course to course. Any attendance guidelines for a given class must be provided to students in a syllabus or other written document at the start of the semester. Sanctions (e.g., required withdrawal from the course, grade adjustment, and/or a failing grade) will be imposed for poor attendance.
