Animal Law Clinic Assists Farm Animal Sanctuary
The Animal Law Clinic is representing a local animal sanctuary, and using that experience to develop a legal tool kit for animal sanctuaries around the world.
The Center for Animal Law Studies Sponsors First Animal Law Convention in Africa
“People, Animals and the Planet: One Health, One Welfare” featured experts and participants from various fields such as animal welfare, conservation, law enforcement, environmental policy, as well as the nonprofit sector, academics, and representatives from development organizations.

LC SALDF Hosts Ryan Merkley, Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine
On January 25th, 2018, LC SALDF had the opportunity to host Ryan Merkley, who is the Director of Research Advocacy at the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM). Ryan discussed proposed changes to laws and policies that impact animals used in research, as well how agencies carry out these duties under the law.

On Thursday, January 11th, SALDF welcomed the chapter back from winter break and had the honor of hosting the Center for Animal Law Studies’ first Aquatic Animal Law Initiative Fellow, Becky Jenkins as the first event of Spring semester.
SALDF Hosts Tom and Henry Lininger
On Friday, November 10th, 2017, LC SALDF as well as SIEL and NEDC co-hosted Tom and Henry Lininger, who discussed wildlife protections that import aspects of the 4th amendment. They propose a doctrine of wildlife privacy that would import some aspects of Fourth Amendment jurisprudence to limit wildlife surveillance and limit the tracking and killing of wolves to avoid interactions with humans and livestock.
