National Lawyers Guild is the nation’s oldest and largest progressive bar association. National Lawyers Guild is dedicated to the need for basic and progressive change in the structure of our political and economic system. Through its members—lawyers, law students, jailhouse lawyers and legal workers united in chapters and committees—the Guild works locally, nationally, and internationally as an effective political and social force in the service of the people. NLG represents progressive political movements, using the law to protect human rights above property interests and to attain social justice.
The Lewis & Clark Chapter of NLG maintains a radical presence on campus and meets periodically throughout the school year to work on a variety of project to effectively promote our collective agenda.
