Scholarships and Awards
Lewis & Clark Law School awards scholarship aid to a significant percentage of each year’s entering class and to current upper-division students in a variety of different awards. Over 98% of all incoming students typically receive a scholarship or grant, and all scholarships for incoming students are unconditional. Students need not maintain a certain GPA or class rank for their merit scholarship to renew annually. Retention data for merit-based awards can be found here.
Some students at Lewis & Clark Law School receive both scholarships awarded by the law school and awards offered by organizations outside of the law school. This page provides an overview of scholarships awarded by both Lewis & Clark and external sources.
For more information about financial aid, please visit the Financial Aid website for law students.
Merit Scholarships for Incoming Students
All JD applicants are eligible for Lewis & Clark merit scholarships, including international and undocumented individuals.
Admitted JD students receive automatic consideration for all incoming student merit scholarships. No separate application is necessary. Any incoming student receiving a scholarship will be notified at the time of admission. The following merit scholarships are awarded to incoming JD students only:
Dean’s Scholarship for Excellence
Donor-Supported Scholarships for Incoming JD Students
These scholarships are made possible by the generosity of alumni and friends of the law school. All incoming JD students are automatically considered for these scholarships, so no separate application is necessary. Most donor-supported scholarships fund all or part of a student’s existing merit scholarship and include an opportunity to connect personally with the sponsoring donor. Most donor named scholarships are awarded every year.
Expand the list below to see all donor-supported scholarships awarded to incoming students.
Donor-Supported Scholarships for Current Upper-Division JD Students
All students are eligible to apply for upper-division scholarships after the first year. Recipients for each award are selected on the basis of criteria specified by the sponsoring donor.
Expand the list below to see all donor-supported scholarships awarded to upper-division JD students.
Donor-Supported Scholarships by Criteria
Some scholarships are listed multiple times due to overlapping criteria.
Outside Scholarships
Outside scholarships are those that are awarded by an organization other than Lewis & Clark, but that may be used to help with costs incurred as a law student at Lewis & Clark. Outside scholarships that we are currently aware of are listed here.
If you receive an outside scholarship, you must report it to the Office of Financial Aid. If you notify us after receiving your financial aid package, your award may be revised.
