NW Public Service Career Fair
Connect with students, help today’s clients, and inspire tomorrow’s justice seekers.
Welcome
The Northwest Consortium of Law Schools brings together ten law schools in the Northwestern and Rocky Mountain states that work together to enhance public service, employment, and professional opportunities for their students. The Consortium schools have worked together for three decades creating the annual NW Public Service Career Fair to introduce public service-minded law students to employers working to advance concepts of justice, fairness, and the well-being of the general public. The NWPSCF traditionally brings nonprofit employers, civil legal aid organizations, and government offices together with hundreds of law students.
Join us to connect with students who are passionate about making a difference!
Overview
The NW Public Service Career Fair takes place over two days, in-person and virtually.
Each morning, the fair is open for Table Talks - this is a chance for students and employers to meet in a casual environment, chat about their organization, and exchange information. Typically, employers will provide a general overview of their mission and allow students to ask questions. Students will visit employer tables during the in-person event or “pop” in and out of Zoom rooms when participating virtually. Employers do not need to post a job to participate in table talks, and students do not need to apply for positions to participate (although they must pre-register for the fair).
In the afternoon, the fair is open for Interviews - this is a chance for employers to conduct brief, 20-minute interviews. Employers can interview up to 13 students each day of the fair. Employers who prefer to conduct interviews outside of the fair can still use the fair as a resume collect (see below).
Employer Registration
Employer registration is scheduled to open on October 28, 2024.
Consortium Student Registration

Both! The in-person day is Friday, January 31, 2025 in Portland, Oregon at the Lewis & Clark Undergraduate Campus. The virtual day is Saturday, February 1, 2025.
Yes, yes, and yes! Registering for the fair ensures that you have access to all of the available table talks. However, to potentially receive interviews, you must separately apply for specific positions in advance. Employers are then able to select up to 13 students per day to interview. You will be notified in advance of the fair of any interviews you receive.
Check back soon for details of when and how employers are participating in the NWPSCF.
No! You are welcome to join us solely for table talks to learn about participating organizations.
To apply for jobs before the fair, complete the full registration process and then apply via Career Connect. Check out the schedule at the end of the page to learn about the timeline for interview selections and more.
Employers who want to conduct interviews at the fair will post jobs in advance of the fair. These jobs will be listed in Lewis & Clark’s Career Connect system. Lewis & Clark students already have access to this system; students at other schools will need to request access following the registration instructions.
Application materials will be released to employers before the fair. You will be notified at your official school email address if you are selected for an interview, and will have 24 hours to accept or decline your interviews. The final schedule will be created after students accept or decline.
Some employers prefer to interview outside the fair using our resume collect option. These employers will contact you directly if they wish to schedule interviews.
Yes, yes, and yes! Employers can engage in the fair in several ways. If your organization would like to promote its role in the community and engage with students without conducting interviews, you may register for table talks only. Table talks are an informal way to connect with students and increase awareness of your organization. During the table talks portion of each day, students will visit your table during the in-person event or enter your Zoom room where everyone can exchange contact information, ask questions, and learn about opportunities with your organization.
If you would like to conduct interviews with students during the fair, you can register for table talks and interviews, or interviews only. Employers who conduct interviews during the fair will have 20-minute interviews scheduled for them in the afternoons based on the students they select. If you would like to conduct interviews with students after the fair on your own schedule, you can register for a resume collect. Employers who register for a resume collect will receive student materials to review, but will be responsible for scheduling interviews outside of the fair. This is a great option for employers who wish to connect with our students, but who may have a date conflict with the fair.
No! You are welcome to join us solely for table talks to share information with our students about your organization.
If you would like to conduct interviews with students after the fair on your own schedule, you can register for a resume collect. Employers who register for a resume collect will receive student materials to review, but will be responsible for self-scheduling interviews outside of the fair. This is a great option for employers who wish to connect with our students, but who may have a date conflict with the fair, want to conduct longer interviews, or want to consider candidates from outside NW Consortium schools in their interview process.
