Allison Williams is a veterinarian with over 25 years of experience in the field of laboratory animal science. She currently serves as the Global Animal Welfare Director, where she leads efforts to promote high standards of care, animal welfare and ethical practices in research and laboratory settings globally. Dr. Williams earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Mississippi State University and went on to complete a laboratory animal medicine residency at the Wake Forest School of Medicine. She began her career in the U.S. Public Health Service at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where she gained extensive expertise in public health and biomedical research in support of vaccine development and infectious disease. She’s held positions in industry and well as pharma. Throughout her career, she has remained deeply committed to advancing animal welfare, both through her professional leadership and her active role in advocacy.
Outside of her professional life, Allison shares her home with two beloved fur babies—Max, a rescued German Shepherd, and Marley, her cat. She enjoys spending time in nature, hiking scenic trails, and working in her garden, which provide her with balance and inspiration.
