Taryn McKenna moved to Oregon over ten years ago, and after stumbling upon information about the realities of animal agriculture, she knew she wanted to commit to a vegan lifestyle. She almost immediately became very active in Portland’s vegan community, spending many years in grassroots involvement, committed to compassionate living, and driven to create meaningful change through endeavors that promote plant-based living and raise awareness about animal welfare.
Taryn’s passion for animal wellbeing has been a core aspect of her life, and as she has been on her sobriety journey in recovery – that has directed a new vision to pursue her passion. She is devoted to learning about policy, becoming involved at the legal level, and taking action on the frontlines, with a particular interest in advocating for marine life and addressing the urgent challenges animals face in our oceans.
She currently shares her life with her two dogs, Henry and Pearl, and her kitten, Frankie who are lovingly referred to as her fluff children.
