Savannah Sherman is a Hawaii-licensed attorney. She is the founding chair of the Animal Law Section of the Hawaii State Bar Association, where she organizes and leads events to educate on animal law issues in Hawaii.
Savannah graduated from Florida State University College of Law in 2024. While there, she was the two-year President of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund chapter, an extern with Pets Ad Litem, Inc., and a member of the moot court team. Savannah was selected for the honor of the Final Four competition, where she argued as a law student before the Florida Supreme Court. Savannah was recognized by the Animal Law Section of the Florida Bar with the annual Distinguished Achievement Award, which is given to one Florida law student each year to recognize that student’s contribution to animal law. Savannah was selected after authoring an article in the Florida Bar Journal about cosmetic animal testing, working on a lawsuit to prevent the starvation of manatees in the Indian River Lagoon, and earning the top grade in her school’s Animal Law Litigation, Legislation & Policy course. Since then, Savannah has authored more articles, another of which also being selected for publication in the Florida Bar Journal. Upon graduation, she hopes to conduct policy work to elevate the status and treatment of animals used in agriculture.
In her free time, Savannah regularly volunteers at the Aloha Animal Sanctuary, where she teaches painting classes and cleans chicken habitats. She enjoys taking strolls with her fiancé, Connor, and their elderly dog, Stella. She also has a kitty, Bertie, who was rescued from the middle of a Florida highway on a hot summer’s day. Now, Bertie gets to enjoy a comfy couch and unconditional love.
