Megan Engle Rosen is an attorney practicing in Louisville, Kentucky. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Kentucky, majoring in psychology and topical studies (Islamic studies). After graduating from the Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University, Megan worked as a legal aid attorney in Detroit, Michigan, before returning to her hometown of Louisville. Since 2010, she has practiced administrative law, focusing on public benefits.
In 2014, Megan, a lifelong animal lover, recognized the need for a greater animal legal presence in Kentucky and cofounded the Kentucky Bar Association Animal Law Section. Through the Animal Law Section, Megan has programmed and presented multiple continuing legal education sessions on animal law issues to attorneys across Kentucky. Megan also served on the board of a Louisville animal rescue, The Arrow Fund.
Acutely aware of Kentucky’s status in the bottom tier of animal friendly states, Megan chose to pursue an online LLM degree through Lewis & Clark to learn from the best and brightest animal advocates from the US and abroad. Megan is the inaugural recipient of the Thomas Bloom Raskin Scholarship for Animal Protection. She is focusing her studies on farmed animal protection, and upon graduation, she plans to identify and evaluate ways to implement heightened farmed animal welfare standards in Kentucky.
Megan enjoys lifting weights and reading, and spending time with her husband, son, and the two best (and worst behaved) dogs in the world, Emmy Lou and Henry.
Center for Animal Law Studies is located in Wood Hall on the Law Campus.
