Brittney Gibson is a self-proclaimed “crazy cat lady,” born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She lives with her spouse, five rescue companion animals, including four cats, and one dog. Brittney’s journey into animal advocacy began at a young age as she always had a passion and affinity for helping animals. Brittney studied law at the University of Missouri Kansas City, where she was president of the Kansas City chapter of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund. She organized “Meatless Mondays,” documentary screenings, and supply drives for local animal rescues and sanctuaries. Brittney was a member, and later president, of the nonprofit VegLife KC and assisted in organizing Kansas City’s “VegFest.” Brittney has fostered, and foster failed, for different animal rescue organizations. When she is not working, Brittney enjoys spending time with her critters and playing roller derby. Brittney is excited to continue her legal education in a field she is passionate about.
