Leslie is pursuing her MSL in Animal Law after studying Criminology and Law as an undergraduate. Soon after receiving her Bachelor’s degree, Leslie began working for a nonprofit as a case manager serving people experiencing homelessness.
Caring deeply about the welfare of both human and non-human animals, Leslie began to volunteer at an organization dedicated to rehoming Pit bull dogs from shelters. Her own dog, Bruno, who she adopted from her family’s hometown in Mexico, is a huge inspiration for her activism.
Leslie hopes to learn about how we can make the world a safer place for all. With a passion for nonprofit work and advocacy, Leslie is looking forward to focusing on animal justice in her career following the MSL program.
She dreams of having her own nonprofit; that cultivates a community to provide care and sanctuary to animals.
In her free time, Leslie spends her time reading, at the beach, volunteering, and with her dog!
