David is a board member for Leilani Farm Sanctuary of Maui and Director of Council Services for the County of Maui. He also teaches at the University of Hawai‘i.
David is from California, where he obtained bachelor’s and law degrees and had a career in sports journalism. He has spent his legal career as a legislative attorney in Hawai‘i. He has written articles for the Hawai‘i Bar Journal on environmental law and legal writing.
One of David’s favorite quotes is by Cesar Chavez: “The end of all knowledge should be service to others.” David is studying at Lewis & Clark to attain knowledge with the goal of being more effective in service to other inhabitants of the world.
