Brief Background
Before I came to Lewis & Clark, I was pursuing my undergraduate degree at Purdue University. I majored in aquatic sciences (marine and freshwater biology) and minored in environmental policy.
What made you decide to go to law school?
I decided during my second year at Purdue that I wanted to pursue a law degree with a focus on environmental law because I wanted to tackle the policies that affect our environment head on.
Why did you choose to attend Lewis & Clark?
The reason why I chose Lewis & Clark Law School was because it has one of the best programs in the country for environmental law. Another reason for why I chose this school was because when I first visited, I felt a genuine sense of community from each person that I met, which meant a lot to me because law school can be very stressful and intense.
What is your favorite class that you’ve taken at Lewis & Clark and why?
So far, my favorite class has been Contracts because I love the way my professor teaches and how she explains complicated topics multiple times and in different ways so that everyone understands.
Do you have any advice for students making their final law school choices?
One piece of advice that I would give is to decide what your needs are and choose the school that you think will fulfill those needs.
What was the hardest thing about adjusting to law school?
For me, the hardest part of adjusting to law school is the workload. Not only does it take time to get used to the many pages of reading each night, but it also takes time to digest the complicated topics.
