Dustin Combs ’12 is senior legal counsel for the healthcare division of DKSH in Bangkok, Thailand: a position he has held since 2018. His work involves managing regional negotiations for the out-licensing and in-licensing of pharmaceutical products and medical devices, the legal management of strategic mergers and acquisitions, and the management of international commercial disputes. Dustin is also the global data privacy lead, and implements the data privacy strategy for the DKSH group.
Prior to joining DKSH, Dustin was an associate at Baker & McKenzie in Yangon, Myanmar. His work there involved assisting multinational clients with their market entry, business establishment, and regulatory compliance. He also helped protect clients’ intellectual property rights through registration and enforcement actions.
Before joining Baker & McKenzie, Dustin worked for Bun & Associates, a Cambodian law firm, where he concentrated on banking and finance transactions and commercial arbitration.
As a student at Lewis & Clark Law School, Dustin completed an externship in India where he gained experience working on complex transactions, researching transnational laws, drafting contracts, and observing trials at the Indian Supreme Court. He also volunteered with Catholic Charities El Programa Hispano, was associate editor of the Animal Law review, and participated in the International Law and Business Law Societies. He was drawn to Southeast Asia after graduating in part because he spent a semester studying abroad in Cambodia as an undergraduate.
Dustin is a member and scholarship recipient of the International Bar Association’s International Sales, Finance and Product Law Section, and is admitted to practice in Oregon.
