In addition to her Animal Law LLM student at Lewis & Clark Law School, Dr. Junhong obtained her PhD in law (U.K.), LLM (China), LLB (China), and BA (China).
She was a Jim Rubin International Fellow, Environmental Law Institute, U.S.A. (March-July 2021) and visiting Fellow Oxford University, U.K. (Aug. to Sep. 2004). She is a member of the Environmental Law Branch, China Environmental Science Society and an expert advisor for China Biodiversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) Workshop on the negotiation of an international legally binding instrument on the conservation and sustainable use of BBNJ under the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea (2015-2019). Currently, she is a member of Laws, Regulations, and Standards team of the Belt and Road Initiative International Green Development Coalition (2019 to present).
As a researcher at China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing, Junhong has participated in research programs on climate change legislation, biodiversity conservation in the area of BBNJ, legislation and policy research on air pollution, water pollution, and fishery law.
As a volunteer at the Center for Legal Assistance to Pollution Victims, an environmental NGO, Junhong helped organize and participate in international symposia and workshops on environmental enforcement and implement internationally funded programs on training judges, prosecutors, lawyers and environmental NGOs on environmental legal practice and environmental public interest litigation, including climate change litigation.
