Professor Named Fellow of American College of Bankruptcy
Professor Samir Parikh was admitted as a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy. He is one of only 60 law professors in the group.

Professor Samir Parikh has been admitted as a Fellow by the American College of Bankruptcy (ACB). He is one of thirty-nine new Fellows being honored and recognized this year for their professional excellence and exceptional contributions to the bankruptcy and insolvency practice. The College has approximately 1,000 Fellows, of which there are fewer than 60 professors of law.
The ACB is an honorary public service association of United States and international insolvency academics, professionals, and jurists. Individuals are invited to join based on a proven record of the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, character, integrity, expertise, scholarship, and leadership contributing to the enhancement of bankruptcy and financial restructuring law and practice.
Professor Parikh is a nationally recognized expert on mass tort restructurings and business reorganizations.
His two current articles - Financial Disequilibrium and A Malevolent Blasphemy: Leveraged Loans as Securities (with Katherine Waldock) – explore the often-times ruthless world of distressed debt investing and are forthcoming in the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. Further, the law review selected Professor Parikh to be a co-organizer of its Fall 2022 Symposium, “Debt Market Complexity: Shadowed Practices and Financial Injustice.”
His last article, Scarlet-Lettered Bankruptcy: A Public Benefit Proposal for Mass Tort Villains, was published by the Northwestern University Law Review and is the first to propose a public benefit alternative to traditional resolution mechanisms for mass tort debtors.
On February 8, 2022, Professor Parikh was invited to testify before the Senate Subcommittee on Federal Courts, Oversight, Agency Action, and Federal Rights. He provided a Written Congressional Statement on the hearing topic, “Corporate Efforts to Side-Step Accountability Through Bankruptcy.”
Professor Parikh’s 2020 article, Bankruptcy Tourism and the European Union’s Corporate Restructuring Quandary: The Cathedral in Another Light, was published in the University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Law and is the culmination of his work as a Fulbright Schuman Scholar at Oxford University. The article was one of eight articles selected to be part of the Oxford Business Law Workshop Series (Trinity Term).
Professor Parikh frequently provides expert commentary for national media, including The Wall Street Journal, 60 Minutes (on background), The New York Times, Bloomberg News, NBC News, Law360, The Financial Times, and The Deal.
