WATCH: COP26: Outcomes for Climate Justice

Global emissions must be cut in half by 2030 to protect and promote human rights, and avoid the worst effects of climate change. Our expert panel discussed the goals set for the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) and the outcomes.

In this online webinar, Professor Melissa Powers, Professor Lisa Benjamin, and Nikki Reisch from the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) discussed temperature goals, the international carbon market (Article 6 of the Paris Agreement), the need to revisit questions of loss and damage to support the most vulnerable populations unable to adapt, and climate finance that cuts across all issues. Nikki described and discussed the outcomes from Glasgow. Akriti Bhargava, a 3L law student, moderated the panel.
