Amanda (Mandy) Rude ’13 currently works at Legal Atlas as a Senior Legal Analyst, with a focus on wildlife trade, environmental, and organized crime. Mandy also consults for IISD-RS Earth Negotiations Bulletin, where she covers international environmental policy conferences. She previously worked at the US Department of State as an Advisor on environmental crime programs, where she managed two million dollar international programs to train customs and prosecutors in Africa on wildlife trafficking. She has also worked on the ground in Malaysia, Mongolia, and Thailand.
While at Lewis & Clark, she founded the student group - Students for International Environmental Law (SIEL). She earned her JD in 2013 with a certificate in environmental law.
Besides a strong love for wildlife, the environment, and international travel- she also blogs about coffee at lawyerseekingcoffee.
