The Lewis & Clark Law Review is currently accepting submissions.

Submissions are generally accepted every August and February. Authors are encouraged to submit as early as possible after the opening of the submissions window. Please see below for information on submitting to the Online Supplement.

The Lewis & Clark Law Review welcomes manuscripts reflecting original scholarship in any area(s) of law. We publish pieces in the following categories:

  • Articles.  We are looking for originality, current legal relevance, a clear thesis, effective organization, good writing, and proper citations. Articles on the process of legal education and book reviews are rarely selected.
  • Lewis & Clark Law Student Notes and Comments. Please note that we publish student notes and comments written by Lewis & Clark Law School students only. A Note typically focuses on a single case or statute in a jurisdictional, jurisprudential, or historical context, while a Comment addresses a recent case or statute as a touchstone for discussion of an emerging trend in a given area of the law. Students should not submit their work via Scholastica, but should instead submit their work to lclr-submissions@lclark.edu.

Citations to authority in a manuscript should conform to the most recent edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (Harvard Law Review Association).

Electronic Submissions

We only accept submissions electronically. Submissions should be accompanied by a curriculum vitae, and may be accompanied by a cover letter as well.

Submission via Scholastica is strongly preferred. Submissions will also be accepted via e-mail at lclr-submissions@lclark.edu. If submitting via e-mail, please include the author’s name and manuscript title in the subject line.

For more information, please contact the Submissions Editor at lclr-submissions@lclark.edu.
