Opt-In Series
Hosted by the law school’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, the Opt-In Series brings speakers to campus to foster dialogues and discussions about race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, class, trauma, historical events, civil rights, and other important issues that intersect with law and policy. Among the goals of the Opt-In Series are (1) to provide a voice to and raise awareness of the issues faced by marginalized and/or oppressed members of society; (2) to help train the members of the law school community, including faculty and staff, to better serve current and future constituents; and (3) to create a space in which challenging discussions can take place in a supportive environment.
Some Opt-In presentations may be more intense, emotional, or graphic than a typical classroom presentation depending on the topic and the format chosen by the speaker(s). It is the goal of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee to provide as much information as possible in advance of our Opt-In events, but we also welcome inquiries from all for more information.
If you have any comments or questions, please contact Alexandra Cook, Director of Equity, Inclusion, and Academic Resources.
