- Description: This course examines real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, financing, and leasing. It takes a practical approach to Oregon real estate law, covering the basics of real estate ownership. Topics include the roles of brokers and lawyers, property condition disclosures, purchase and sale agreements, title investigation and protection, environmental and zoning aspects of real estate transactions, closings and escrows, mortgages and deeds of trust, tax implications, remedies, foreclosure, cooperative forms of property ownership, and easements and covenants. By the end of this course, students will have a solid foundation in the legal principles and practical skills necessary for handling real estate transactions, preparing them for practice in this dynamic area of law.

The American Bar Association accreditation standards require students to regularly attend the courses in which they are registered.
