Regalia

All graduates participating in the commencement ceremony are expected to wear the regalia provided by the law school. The regalia includes a robe, cap, and hood. We recommend ironing your robe and hood. Graduates are also allowed to wear cords supplied by the law school. We recommend wearing comfortable, professional attire, including comfortable shoes, with the regalia. The law school reserves the right to decline to permit graduates to wear or to require graduates to remove or alter, any attire or personal adornments deemed to be unduly distracting or objectively offensive.

Cap and gown distribution will take place at the Law School in the LRC on:

• Thursday, April 11th, during two time slots: 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 6:00
• Friday, April 12th, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

If you are unable to personally collect your regalia, you have the option to designate someone to pick it up on your behalf. However, please ensure that written permission is provided to release your regalia to your chosen representative.

During the commencement ceremony, graduates will be “hooded” on stage. Your hood will be included in the cap and gown package you receive. We recommend that you iron or steam your regalia before the event. Graduates keep their regalia and there will be no charge for these items.

• Arrival: 9:30 am
• Group Photo: 9:35 am
• Line-up Instructions: 9:45 am
• Line-up & Check-in: 10:00 am

Commencement Expectations

Commencement ceremonies are the culmination of many years of hard work. It is an academic ceremony and a time for you, your family, and friends to recognize and honor your success! We ask for your help in making these events a positive experience for everyone. The graduates, faculty, staff, and guests all expect and deserve safe, orderly, and dignified ceremonies, and any misconduct would be an unwelcome disturbance. Please be respectful of the moment and others in our presence. The Law School’s Student Honor and Conduct Code applies to Commencement and any participating student/graduate.
