Clients
Client Qualifications
To qualify for transactional legal support, potential clients must:
- Demonstrate financial need
- Have, or plan to start, an Oregon business or nonprofit organization
- Request help within the scope of SBLC services
- Potential clients must first complete an online intake form, followed by a 15-20 minute phone intake. They are then tracked into one or more of the SBLC programs.
How it Works
Prospective clients complete an online intake form. SBLC staff will then call the client to complete the intake and discuss our programs. Once qualified, depending on their need and timing, prospective clients are assigned to either a student intern, a staff attorney or a pro bono attorney.
Clients in the intern and pro bono attorney programs pay an administrative fee. Fees are on a sliding scale depending on income. Clients may be assigned to a staff attorney for an hourly fee.
We do not assist with resolving disputes, lawsuits, or bankruptcy.
