Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are a crucial component in NCVLI’s mission to advance victims’ rights.  NCVLI has a variety of volunteer opportunities available throughout the year ranging from legal work, to event organizing, to assistance with office-related tasks.

NCVLI appreciates all international human rights work and aims to collaborate with other NGOs to advance rights across the globe; its volunteer opportunities are, however, within the United States at this time.

Would you like to volunteer? Attorneys wishing to volunteer their legal services, please complete this form. Others, please complete this form.  Questions? Please email ncvli@lclark.edu.

What do volunteers do?

Law Students

NCVLI has internship opportunities for law students both during the summer and the academic year.  Additionally, upper division law students who have taken the Crime Victim Litigation Clinic or previously interned with NCVLI may have the opportunity to do project-based pro bono legal work assisting NCVLI attorneys.  Law students are also encouraged to assist with general volunteer opportunities.

Attorneys

Pro bono attorneys assist NCVLI with research, writing briefs, and serving as local co-counsel for victims.

If you are interested in a membership with our bar association, the National Alliance of Victims’ Rights Attorneys (NAVRA), please see the NAVRA website here. NAVRA membership is an excellent way to get involved with legal work on behalf of crime victims, stay up to date on best practices for practitioners in the field, and connect with other professionals serving victims of crime.

General Volunteer Opportunities

Beyond attorney and law student positions, NCVLI also provides opportunities for paralegals, undergraduate students, and others ranging from office support to event coordination.
