The American Bar Association’s Findlegalhelp.org website will guide you to a list of resources in your state, including pro bono legal representation for victims in civil cases.
LawHelp
LawHelp.org assists low and moderate income people in finding free legal aid programs in their communities and answers to questions about their legal rights. LawHelp’s website has referrals to resources for each state, including a mix of self-help resources and links to pro bono attorneys.
VictimConnect
The VictimConnect Resource Center is a place for crime victims to learn about their rights and options confidentially and compassionately. A program of the National Center for Victims of Crime, it combines a helpline, an online chat, and web-based information and service referrals.
How do I find an attorney?
Victims often need attorneys to protect their rights during the civil cases. Anytime a victim is seeking an attorney (s)he will want to interview that attorney to ensure it is a good fit. Some questions to ask as you consider retaining an attorney can be found here.

The Alaska Institute for Justice (formerly Alaska Immigration Justice Project) is a nonprofit agency that provides low-cost immigration legal assistance to immigrants and refugees in all immigration applications including citizenship, permanent resident status, work permits, asylum, family-based petitions and immigration petitions for immigrant victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking.
Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles
Since 1929, Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles has provided civil legal services to poor and low-income people in Los Angeles County.

Victim Legal Network of DC (VLNDC)

VLNDC is a network of legal service providers in DC that provide legal assistance to victims of crime in DC. The network provides victims of crime with access to 16 different legal service organizations that can provide legal help in a variety of issues including (but not limited to) family law, immigration, and crime victims’ rights. When a victim contacts VLNDC, the organization strives to connect the victim to any member organizations that may be able to assist them with their pending legal needs. If the network cannot assist them, it provides the victim with other resources to explore.

Lone Star Legal Aid
Lone Star Legal Aid is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit law firm with a rich and deeply respected history of advocacy on behalf of low-income and underserved populations. LSLA is the fourth largest free legal aid provider in the United States serving approximately 60,000 square miles, one-third of Texas, including 72 counties in the eastern and Gulf Coast regions of Texas, and also four counties of southwest Arkansas.

Mid-MN Legal Aid serves Minnesotans in the 20 counties of central Minnesota, including Hennepin, from offices in Minneapolis, St. Cloud and Willmar.
