Do you accept volunteers?
Yes, we welcome and rely on volunteers! Volunteer shifts are in four hour blocks, and each volunteer must commit to at least one volunteer shift at the conference. Unfortunately, due to the expense of catering, volunteers cannot come to the Friday Welcome Reception or the Saturday Banquet Dinner without registering for the conference as an attendee.
Volunteers, however, will be fed during their shifts. For more information or to volunteer for the conference, please contact Student Conference Coordinator Natalie Calta at njcalta@lclark.edu.
What is the dress code for the conference?
Although there is no set dress code for the conference, most conference attendees dress casual to business casual for the duration of the conference.

Some of the exhibits at the Oregon Historical Society will be open during the Friday Welcome Reception. The beloved, permanent exhibit, “Oregon My Oregon,” which details the history of Oregon will be open. A traveling exhibit, “The West The Railroads Made,” will also be open during the reception.
Are there inexpensive lodging options for conference attendees?
We have reserved room blocks for conference attendees at The Paramount Hotel and The Mark Spencer Hotel, both of which are located in downtown Portland. Please visit our “Hotels” page for more information. On this page, you will also find information about other inexpensive hotel and hostel options. Additionally, there are a limited number of spaces available for visiting students who wish to stay with Lewis & Clark students. For more information about this special student housing option, please contact Natalie Calta at njcalta@lclark.edu.
Is all the food at the conference vegetarian/vegan?
Yes, all the food and drinks at the conference are vegan.
How can I get to Lewis & Clark Law School by public transit?
Lewis & Clark runs a free shuttle from Pinoneer Square in downtown Portland to Lewis & Clark Law school. The shuttle schedule web address is : http://legacy.lclark.edu/dept/parking/shuttle.html.
Please note, however, that last year’s shuttle schedule is currently listed on the shuttle website. Although the school expects their weekend service to remain the same this year, we recommend that you check the website frequently for updated information about the 2009-2010 schedule.
Please also note that although the website still lists the Sellwood shuttle from Southeast Portland, this shuttle has been discontinued.
If I plan to drive to the conference where can I park and do I need a parking pass?
There will be some parking available in the Griswold parking lot on the undergraduate campus (5-10 minute walk from the law school). As you approach the law school, please follow the signs directing you to the parking area. Parking is free for conference attendees, but there are a limited number of parking spaces so please arrive early to ensure a spot.
What is a podcast? Do I need an iPod to hear one?
A podcast is a series of ditial computer files, usually either digital audio or video, that are released periodically and made available for download by means of web syndication.
Lewis & Clark Law School videotapes our conference panel sessions and posts them on the Lewis & Clark website a couple of weeks after the conference concludes. You do not need a iPod to watch or hear the podcasts. Please be advised, however, that not all panel sessions are podcast as some contain sensitive information that the presenters do not wish to make available on the internet.
