2026 Comparative Animal Law Symposium

17-18 March 2026

The 4th Annual Comparative Animal Law Symposium will be held March 17-18, 2026 over two days:

  • March 17: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (London: GMT +1); and
  • March 18: 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. (London: GMT +1).

The Symposium is free, virtual, and open to the public. Day 1 will begin with an opening keynote from a distinguished scholar in animal law or comparative law. The keynote presentation will be followed by general discussion. Each day will include a roundtable discussion on an issue of comparative animal law by leading academics. The remainder of the Symposium on both days will feature presentations by early-career scholars. Each presentation will benefit from constructive recommendations by experts in animal law and comparative law.

This Symposium pursues various aims:

  • to promote innovative research on animal law from a comparative perspective;
  • to provide postgraduate students with an opportunity to discuss their current research on comparative animal law with their peers and a team of experts; and
  • to allow for the creation of networks between young researchers from a wide range of cultural backgrounds having an interest in comparative animal law.

The Call for Abstracts will be opening soon.
